First, Sign Up for Wonders here or join with your Organization invite link. The easiest way to Sign Up is using Google, but you can also use any email.

⚠️ If you're joining an Organization and don't have an invite link, ask any colleague using Wonders to invite you. Then sign up using your company email (if you sign up using your personal email, your admin may remove you).

You can use Google SSO if your organization utilizes Google Workspace. Otherwise, please sign up using email and password.

If you're signing up with email and password, you will receive a verification email. Please check and click the link to complete your sign-up. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder and click "try again."

Advanced Keyword Search with Boolean Logic

Sometimes you need an extra level of control during your search—such as searching exact keywords, excluding specific terms, or specifying common synonyms. Wonders' Boolean search mode offers this ability.

Wonders search supports all three Boolean operators: AND, NOT, and OR.

Starting Boolean Search

In any column, click '+ Add keyword group' to begin an advanced search:

Include the keyword group ( AND)
Exclude it ( NOT)

Literature may use different terms for the same concept. You can include synonymous terms in each group to broaden your coverage—for example, adding "canine" and "feline" to respective groups:

How to use filters to find precisely what you're looking for?

In projects, you can click 'Edit Search' in any column to open the Filter bar.

In the Filter bar you will find five functions:

Year Range: Narrow or broaden the time scope of your search
Sorting: Choose to sort between Most Relevant (best), Highest Citations (most referred by other researchers), or Newest (latest knowledge). Note that sorting by citations and newest can reduce relevancy.
Full Papers Only: Only shows papers you can fully download, excluding anything behind a paywall.
Show Without AI: Turns off our AI system that rewrites titles for easier reading. (Useful if you want to see original study titles)
Author Name: Show only papers by a specific author who publishes in this topic area.

Example use cases:

Latest research: You want the latest studies on learning & developments for adults, because you're an HR person developing a learning program for your company. You set your filter to the last 30 years, sort by relevancy, and click Full Papers to avoid anything behind a paywall.
Specific author: You're an ML researcher and want to follow up on recent research after the seminal 'Attention Is All You Need' paper

How to use keywords to refine your search?

Keywords help shape search results to find the most relevant content. Wonders tries to guess effective keywords for academic knowledge, but you can edit them to improve relevancy or specify context.

Keywords help you:

Get a completely different set of results
Specify geography (e.g., adding "Southeast Asia")
Narrow to a specific context (e.g., adding "pesticide-free")
Pivot search direction (e.g., adding "Alternative strategies")
Broaden search scope (e.g., adding "comparative analysis")

Example: For "What alternative strategies effectively control pests in agriculture?", Wonders might suggest:
Alternative strategies, Pest Control, Agriculture.

But you could clarify context by adding Greenhouses, or prioritize geography by adding LATAM.

Note: 2–3 keywords typically yield the best results. Using more than 5 can make queries too narrow.
