How does Wonders work?

Wonders AI is a research platform that lets you compose multi-search step-by-step workflows. Unlike other AI tools, Wonders guides you through each step with full control as it searches through tens of thousands of peer-reviewed journals and patents to find relevant information for your queries. On top of that, it lets you organize your knowledge, highlight, share, and export—so that you can save money and avoid the headache of switching tools.

What AI models does Wonders use?

Wonders uses a combination of state-of-the-art models from leading AI labs and proprietary ones to deliver best-in-class accuracy. We constantly experiment and improve our technical approaches to deliver fast and accurate results.

How can I get Wonders for my company?

If you're a small team, you can use the Wonders Teams plan and buy just the number of seats you need. Wonders Teams gives you access to a company dashboard and basic user management. If you have a team of over 20 people, contact us to explore our Enterprise plans.

What makes Wonders different from ChatGPT or other AI tools?

Wonders isn’t a chatbot. It’s a structured research workspace that guides users through literature discovery, synthesis, and export—with full source traceability and academic context. It’s built for deep work, not just quick answers.

Is Wonders safe for academic integrity?

Yes. Wonders is designed to support research, not replace thinking. Unlike most AI tools, Wonders guides users step-by-step through the research process instead of simply generating an answer (or worse, full articles). Control, replicability, and transparency are key to research integrity.

For educators, our Teams plan makes supervision easy—so you can verify any student’s work and thinking on shared boards with full provenance.

As a student, how do I avoid plagiarism while using AI?

Can you use our AI-generated summaries in your paper? Not really. If you’re expected to write your own work, treat AI output as a guide, not something to copy.

Here’s why:

Nuance matters: AI may paraphrase in ways that shift meaning. It’s still important to engage with the original text.
Academic integrity: Research isn’t just collecting quotes—it’s about thinking through what each source means for your argument. That’s what educators assess, and ultimately it’s the skill you’re building.
Transparency: Most journals (and teachers) now expect AI usage to be disclosed. You can use the following statement: "Elements of this work were assisted by Wonders AI, which supported topic exploration, summarization, note-taking, and draft generation. All final text was entirely written and reviewed by the author."

Does Wonders integrate with reference managers?

Yes. Wonders supports export to major formats like CSV, XLS, and BibTeX—making it easy to integrate with tools like Zotero, Paperpile, RefWorks, and Mendeley.

What content does Wonders search?

Wonders indexes over 500M+ documents, including peer-reviewed journals, preprints, technical literature, and global patent databases—giving you expansive reach beyond what typical library tools cover.

Wonders sources content across all geographies and any published academic and patent domain from physics, sustainability, business, engineering, consumer psychology, biology, botany, marketing, medicine, and more...

Can I add my own documents or data sources to Wonders?

(Coming soon) We’re actively developing features for custom PDF upload and integration with internal datasets—perfect for organizations with proprietary content or reading lists.

Is Wonders multi-lingual and suitable for global researchers?

Yes. Wonders can retrieve research from around the world and respond in the language of the user query. For example, you can filter geographically to Latin America or submit a query in Arabic and receive a response in Arabic. (Coming soon) We are also working to provide the Wonders interface in additional languages.

What is the pricing for Wonders?

You can start using Wonders for free on our Starter plan, then scale as you need with our paid subscriptions. We offer academic discounts for staff and students—[inquire here](mailto:scholarship@readwonders.com).

Can I get Wonders for my kids?

Wonders is not specifically designed to be used by minors. Given its academic context and complex interface, it may not be ideal for pre-college learning. However, it may be suitable for high school projects and AP classes. We recommend supervision.

How accurate is the Wonders AI?

Unlike most AI tools, Wonders achieves ~90% citation accuracy thanks to grounding its responses in scientific and technical literature. In all instances, Wonders limits its answers to provided context—significantly reducing inaccuracies and misrepresentations. If Wonders doesn't know the answer, it will usually say so. Our proprietary algorithms limit hallucinations and misquotations, but we recommend verifying every source in its original context.

Does Wonders work on mobile?

Wonders is currently not optimized for mobile devices. Tablets may work in some cases, but for best performance, please use Wonders on desktop.
